The Happiness Machine

~~~~~HAPPY NEW YEAR!~~~~~
As we approach the close of 2017, I wish you much happiness in the New Year. Here’s a tiny story to close this year and open the new one. 🙂
The Happiness Machine
“Prove it,” I said, skeptical Dr. Kissylips had invented a Happiness Machine.
“I’m 100% sure,” she replied. “Though I haven’t tested it yet.”
I sneered. “Good grief. You haven’t even tested it?”
She peered over her glasses. “You volunteering?”
I had nothing better to do. “Sure.”
“Great! First, the ‘before.” She held a mirror to my face. “See that scowl?”
“Whatever.”
“Here we go!” She flipped a switch.
Wheels spun. Mirrored disks caught sunlight that glittered and swirled around me.
Dr. Kissylips sashayed over with her mirror. “Voila!” she said. “Behold the ‘after!”
And in my reflection, a wide-eyed smile.
